I don't have anything for the pain, but if you take a couple Ambien, you'll still have the pain, but you wont remember it- or so I'm told.

Whenever I go to the Dentist and I get pain med's I try and do without them so I have a small stash for emergencies.

Shame that in some other countries Dr.'s don't control all access to medicine.

I always wanted to have a Cipro stash that I could sit on but most Doc's frown of hoarding.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

..All I have is Hydrocodone. The one time I had 80 mg. Oxy, it could have turned into a real problem. Sure, it's time release, but cut the pill in half and it all rushes into the system.
..I take it easy on the Hydro so there's always a little extra for those days when the pain at L4, L5 and S1 is unbearable. I sincerely hope you get what you need to feel better. Pain can take over your life just as surely as the meds can.

I wasn't serious and I had mistaken Oxycodone
for Hydrocodone. As far as the opiates. I cannot
take any of them. I was addicted for 2 years on
Oxycontin and Oxycontin IR. i had to go to detox
for quit a while and wouldn't wish that on anyone.
There are too many pain management centers who give
out Oxy like aspirin. I experienced many more
issues while under that drug that I'll never divulge.

Through the VA I get 800 mg Ibuprofen. It is a horse pill to swallow but is very effective for my once a week need. PBR gets me through the rest of the week pretty well. I've been down the other road with everything from morphine to Darvon and all of the oxy's. The worst was Codine for me. I would still have pain but didn't care. Also brought about the itchies and instant constipation lasting a week at a time! Side effects are always worse than the cure provided.

Oxy and Hydrocodone are the same in all respects. Most times "HYDRO" has Acetaminophen in it as well...
Hope U find what U need to make being alive bearable.I KNOW what pain is and when it's in a foot, that U need to be on every day, their is none better than pure Oxy.If taken as directed,no problem.Start "playing with it" you'll be in over your head in short order....

..How right you are Jeff. When my back was unusable, my Sister in Law gave me the Oxycontins. No more than 2-3 years later, she died on the couch from an accidental O.D. Cathy's brother thought she was just sleeping until he saw the foam around her mouth. She had hundreds of them hidden around the house, all from one doctor. And yes, he's still practicing "medicine".

Ron, there is a cream that my Doctor prescribed, that does wonders. My wife uses it and I tried it for the arthritis in my lower back. Man, what a relief we both got. Ask your doctor about it. They have to prescribe it to you. I will look and see if Donna has any extra and if she does, I will mail you some, as it is expensive. Anything to help a fellow GBer. Oakie

I find the Indomethacin the doc prescribed for Gout works well on arthritic inflammation generally. Discussed with the doc and was told I was OK to use it for that.

    It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. Prescription only.

It'd be worth asking your doc if that drug or something similar would work for you.

    Good Luck.

I take 90 mg of morphine er a day and 60 mg of oxycodone it knocks my pain down to a 3 or 4 on a good day. On bad days i just lay down and read or watch tv.
