It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

    10:00 P.M. EST tonight. >TCM

McMurphy: She was fifteen years old, going on thirty-five, Doc, and she told me she was eighteen, she was very willing, I practically had to take to sewing my pants shut. Between you and me, uh, she might have been fifteen, but when you get that little red beaver right up there in front of you, I don't think it's crazy at all and I don't think you do either. No man alive could resist that, and that's why I got into jail to begin with. And now they're telling me I'm crazy over here because I don't sit there like a damn vegetable. Don't make a bit of sense to me. If that's what being crazy is, then I'm senseless, out of it, gone-down-the-road, wacko. But no more, no less, that's it.

...Always liked the scene where "Chief" finally speaks up.
Great film. I did a lot of exploring at an abandoned asylum.
It's a creepy feeling....like I belong there. Still soap in
dishes, beds, bathtubs and whirlpools. Tunnels led from
    building to building.
...I found a room full of patient reports, torn in half.
wasn't hard to fit a few together. Thorazine and full restraints
were the fix for anything. Weird vibes there.

Will Sampson played - Chief BromdenSampson wasn't even an actor when he was cast.

He was a local park ranger near the filming location and happened to physically fit the bill for Chief Bromden, an almost totally non-speaking role.

..FCD, I love/hate a great story that has no closure. Well told and
    very intriguing.
    ..I find abandoned buildings fascinating.

Only Jack Nicholson could have played that role, he was born to play Randall McMurphy! Excellent movie!

I can only imagine the problems you have in a huge nut house like that. I work in a hospital with a mental ward on the 5th floor and 9 times out of ten when a code 11 is called it's from the 5th floor. It happens at least once a week that I know of as I work the swing shift. Code 11 = Combative patient.

When you are on that floor working you watch your back.

When I was going through heart attack rehab I called the head nurse Nurse Ratchet. She didn't get it.
