The wife took my six year old son to the mall yesterday to see Santa. When jolly ole Santa aksed him what he wanted for Christmas, he said "Santa, I want a revolver". Poor Santa was perplexed!! When my wife told me about this, I thought it was hilarious!!!! Just wanted to share this.

I think a Ruger Bearcat would be perfect. You can load it with 22 shorts to teach him how to shoot it and eventually step up to 22 LR's.

Yes, the Bearcat would be perfect, but I just got a used Ruger Stainless Single Six recently that I was going to sell, but I may just keep it for my son.

By all means, keep the Single Six. He'll never forget it and it just might be his greatest Christmas ever.

At least santa didn't call the mall police, and have him hauled away. [:0]

The single six sounds like it will fit the bill nicely. [:D]

When my 9 year old was 7 he had trouble with the weight of the my Single Six. Got a Bearcat. He could handle it and learned to shoot it surprisingly well. Now he likes the Single Six better and shoots very well. I do have to remind him a couple of times every session to slow up and get back to the basics of sight picture. As soon as I remind him the groups shrink.

It hasn't been that long ago that Santa expected that from all his young male customers. It sounds like you have a good kid with an excellent chance to grow into a good man.

I think the single six is a fine idea. It's just a damn shame you'll have to tell him not to talk much about it at school.

Yes, I still remember when I got my first gun. It was a Christmas present from my parents....a Spesco 410 single shot. That was 27 years ago and I still have it. I told the wife last night that I was thinking about giving him a revolver this year and she's all for it, so I guess he's getting one!! More than likely, he'll get the Stainless Single Six, but I've also got a H&R 949 that looks near perfect shape and I may give him that one instead. Plus, it's blued finish and I can stress the importance of keeping the outside of the gun clean versus the Stainless Ruger. Thanks for the ideas, guys!!

You're quite welcome to the ideas, but I think most of the credit goes to the boy. [:D]

Did Santa remind him he might shoot his eye out?? [:D]
JK man,...sounds like a young man off to a good start,..the future is gonna be scary if our youth doesn't share our views on some threatened privlages that can easily be taken for granted.
