Fox tail taxidermy? (help)

12 year old son was strike calling turkeys over the weekend and a fox decided it was lunch time I suppose. This din't work too well for the fox. A 220 swift makes a hell of a mess of a small dog at 50 yards. I need to know how to preserve the tail off of this critter before Jason drives me nuts.

    If its anything like squirrels, cut it off and nail it up where there is airflow, etc.

    Had a couple of squirrel tails hanging on my garage wall for 9 years - cat trophies. Still good as new (I guess) when I moved...

    Yeppers just hang it till it dries.




    And then tie it to yer car antenna.

    if you just cut the tail off and let it dry it will stink.

    split the tail, skin it out and scrape the hide of any excess flesh.

    once the tail is cleaned, stretch it on a piece of wood, tacking each end and rub the flesh side with salt.

    Leave it tacked and let it dry.
