Prior to human trials, pharmaceuticals like that are tested on animals - in this case primates, i.e. chimpanzees, were recruited. Problem was that the results with the infected chimps were less than successful...

You see, the chimps were raised right there in San Francisco and thus were accustomed to observing and mimicking local human behavior.
And the anti-viral pills needed to be delivered to the chimps orally.

uhh...I guess they don't know about Cobra Gold?
(for those of you that don't know what Cobra Gold is, it's an annual joint combined training event, US Military and Thai military. Goes about 6 weeks, start to finish.)

When in thailand it's also not a bad idea to check under the hood first. Those lady boys can be convincing :P

While up late the other night I was watching MANswers on SPIKE tv and they reveled a sure way to tell without "checking under the hood". They talked to a DR. that does reassignment surgeries and DR. said if index finger is shorter then ring finger then it's a dude because women's index finger is longer or equal to ring finger. Hope this info. saves some members from having to shoot someone in a ceedey motel room at 0'dark thirty some morning.[:D]

God, I used to love Cobra Gold. Great memories, always wished it would have lasted longer.

had a blast!
good food and cold singha.
local prostitutes (not in bangkok) charge 500 baht fot the whole night. first they would cook you dinner, then served beer and the redish colored whiskey and then........ 500 baht was $23 back then.
Of course, that's what my 1st sargeant told me. I don't have any first hand knowledge.[;)]

Last time I was there they charged 200 baht which was $4. No thank you I don't want a $4 hooker. That was in 2001. I did hire one to be a tour guide/translator once because she spoke good english. She was nice but she must have fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. I always liked going to the small pushcarts to get food, and Heineken was really cheap there, I guess they made it there. It was probably bootleg Heineken just like the rolexes, oakleys, and movies. Actually some of that bootleg stuff is much better than the originals.
