Gun Question??

1911 Micro Compact with Kimber 7 round magazines. I am getting to thew last couple of rounds and I am having a failure to feed. There were also a few times that the slide locked back with rounds still in the magazine.

I am thinking it could use some ramp polishing and for sure a stouter recoil spring.

I know with limited information and not shooting the gun the diagnosis is limited, but am I missing anything obvious?

the newer kimbers are very strange. my buddy and i put wd40 in his new one and shot the hell out of it washing it out with more wd as it got dirty.

wd is a terrible lubricant and allows your pistol to break in while clearing out the fouling.

try shooting 200 rounds out of it in a session full of wd40 and see if it continues to misfire. i doubt it will..

it will be cheaper than polishing it by gunsmith.

I did, I had the same problems with all the mags... At different times during the load even... Fully, close to empty, etc...
