Local news story is picking up steam. Just saw it on the 6 o'clock newscast, I was in shock at how overwhelmingly positive the coverage was. Generally speaking, there is at least one token liberal wringing their hands about guns....not this time.
It's a damned shamed that our military....the same ones politicians keep telling us is the greatest in the history of the world...aren't even trusted with defensive sidearms.

UPDATE 7/21/15 @ 4:53 p.m.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- More armed men have joined a Kanawha County man in standing guard outside West Virginia recruiting centers.
Michael LeRose started standing guard with an AR 15 Monday, in response to a shooting at a recruiting center last week in Tennessee.
LeRose is standing guard outside the Marine Corps & Navy Center on Parkway Drive in Charleston.
After seeing a story WSAZ did on LeRose, Michael Schoolcraft showed up, also armed, to show his support.
Schoolcraft says he is not only showing support for LeRose, but also for the men and women currently serving.
Three armed men have also started standing guard at the River Walk Plaza in South Charleston. There is also a recruitment facility there.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Kanawha County man is standing guard outside a local recruiting center with hopes of preventing another tragedy like the one last week at a recruiting center in Tennessee.
Michael LeRose, 26, is standing guard with two guns outside the Marine Corps & Navy Career Center on Parkway Drive in Charleston.
LeRose, who's from St. Albans, says he plans to stand guard outside the center for the next week. Police talked to LeRose this afternoon and allowed him to continue standing outside the recruiting center.
Similar armed patrols conducted by citizens were carried out at recruiting centers Monday in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Georgia, and Alabama.
Last week four marines and a sailor were killed in a shooting at a recruiting center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

A very seriously cool thing to be doing.
Be great if some Home Depot or Lowes or such could donate them some sand bags and sand, build them some cover out on the sidewalk.
I'm afraid that citizens providing free guard service just makes all gun owners look wacky. The federal government has exactly the type security that they believe is needed, thank you. I'm sure everyone saw the bullet holes in TN recruiting office windows; if that had been the usual plate glass, the entire windows would have shattered (as at Sandy Hook). The recruiting office windows were bullet proof glass!
After 9/11, ALL federal agencies developed security plans & instituted new security measures. Threats have been analyzed, & security measures are as strict as they believe is required. Stuff is going to happen; you can't stop everyone.
