I feel your pain, I have to go in for 5 hours this morning. I sure like being retired. But the good news is that I only have to work one of my three part time jobs this week.

No, I get to spend the day with my grandkids. I feel bad that you have to work though, enjoy what time you do have off

Not me, yesterday we rode up to my Mothers and enjoyed the company of her and my step father along with my grand Niece. Wife helped the baby bake Christmas cookies and make fairy houses whatever that is.

    Family time.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Today is the 359th day this year that I haven't had to work.

    Glorious.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Guntech, today was the first time I got a chance to run my new blowsnower. And it's about all the beast this 70-yo can handle, I will admit. Massive Husqvarna. But boy, does that baby sling the powder! I am SO glad I replaced the skid runners with wheels, or it would have been unmanageable for me.

Been savin' vacation days... So I'm off 'till the 2nd.
That is, unless the wife gives me the list she's been workin' on. [:(]

I hope she holds that list 'till spring...

Have to go in late tonight to patrol/inspect railroad track after the Christmas shutdown. Going to start running trains again around 11pm. Wind blew pretty good last night so there may be a tree or two down.

My whole working life was on 24/7/365 schedule. We had to work around having Christmas and all other holidays. I missed a lot of ball games and school events. For the last 14 years I've enjoyed living like a normal person.

I do understand the people that are behind the scenes making life so much easier for us. To them I offer my most sincere thanks and honor.

Because I know that all the services, power and protection that are there are not really magic.[^][^]

Yeah....I blew a lot of snow right back at myself. The wind kept changing.

Rocky: I will have to look into the wheels. That would make it easier.

Here they are. I had to modify them a wee bit to handle the European bolt spacing, but it wasn't difficult.
