    Every year is the same for us, we drive out for the La Verne Parade, then we go over to the in-laws so the kids can swim. About 7:00 we head over to our hanger at Cable Airport, from the hanger we can see 3 large fireworks shows going off at once. It is always a big party with a bunch of people, plus we give rides in our Cessna for those that come out.

    well, i might be from another country but i might just get a confederate flag and fly it with pride!

    Got all my party supplies together over the last few days. I fully intend to lay low and not leave the property.
    If I do go anywhere it will be to harvest a few fish from under a local dock for the fish fry..
    I will pick my fish and shoot them at the last minute for maximum freshness!! Wish y'all could join us for some hushpuppies and fried fish![:p][:p][:D][8D]

    Sunday the 5th.,(my Birthday)I will probably blow my fingers up with some sort of left-over firework from the 4th....lol

    Have launched mortars from the end of the dock for years, but the dry conditions this year means that won't happen.

    So, all we are doing is having a few families over, grilling lobster, salmon, rib-eyes and corn on the cob and will watch the professional show on the lake.

    Should be fun.

    We stay at home away from traffic during holidays. We pretty much stay at home on normal weekends too and go out during the week now that I'm retired. We do all our lawn work and house work on weekends and do our goofing off and playing on weekdays which is OUR weekend when most people are at work and kids are at school. Going to the grocery store in the morning on weekdays is like having a store of your own.

    Just rubbed four slabs of baby backs. Gonna eat good tomorrow and shoot some fireworks. People over at the lake are shooting some big ones now. They get started early. We haven't been to any fireworks shows for several years. Too many people and traffic to want that any more.

    BBQing steaks and going to a rodeo later.

    I find it hard to be festive and excited about Independance day right now. With all that's going on in the USA right now makes the 4TH just not feel right.

    A day late. Fireworks around here are on the 5th, so am going to have a cookout with the family and then go to watch.

    Going to grill a Chinook salmon, caught 2 miles away in the Wind River. Put the finishing touches on my new loading bench, and keep the hose handy. It is way too dry here.

    Since I don't get very many long weekends, I'm gonna try and get some more fencing done around the pasture field (if the rain hold off). Had a mass jail break Thursday with mommas, babies and Fred, all deciding that the grass was greener on the other side of the fence.[:(]

    well we did not go to our lake house as both buddies do not like fireworks and no one here to care for them...so will watch dew dry and mow, about 6 acres, may go down after holiday traffic slows...waiting for delivery of an air seat for mower anyway...everyone have a great holiday...like to find cheap copies of that blue and white flag to use for kindling

    We have always gone to my grandparents to watch the parade an have a cookout. Grandma passed this spring and my son has taken an internship in Alberta Canada so, for the first time in over 20 years, we headed west to Missouri to spend it with my uncles and their families..It will be capped off tomorrow with a pasture party.

    Today is our 45th wedding anniversary.

    We went to the Farmer's Market where I treated myself to a hand-tooled belt. We had a delightful breakfast at a cowboy diner, and then we just chilled until happy hour - her Manhattan and my Martini. I'm about to grill a couple of filet mignons and then we'll watch fireworks from our deck.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.
