Beer from the beach....its everywhere

I don't drink beer.....I have....and I'm not saying that I will not EVER have another beer, but according to the amount of beer we have here you would think we were expecting to meet up with some Vikings while we were at the beach.

Trying to put the groceries away yesterday I was surprised to find beer taking up one and a half shelves and one full drawer. Not much room left for other things!!!

You must b having a party because that junk is what you feed other people, people you don't really care for, it is defiantly not something you would actually buy to drink yourself.

So, what I read is that someone, (not you) bought WAY more "beerlike" drinks for the trip and that they were not consumed.

This is perfectly normal for a beach trip especially if there are large numbers of in laws, cousins and friends of said in laws and cousins that say that they are coming over to hang out and/or go fishing. Knowing the crowd... I used to purchase good beverages for my family and lots of extra "beerlike" beverages for the klingons that FORGOT to bring anything to drink on whatever the expedition was. Plenty of soda, water and juice boxes for all the kids, but I got tired of buying for a certain crowd that may or may not show up then I'm stuck with a case of crap that wont even clean the bugs off the windshield ... I usually just save it for the next event. If it's skunky, cousin Ricky just thinks it has extra hops.... [:D]

    Oh, that ain't so bad.

I used to know this guy. He'd drive in from Texas to work on a mountaintop site in Arizona. I was the Resident, Snow Plow Driver, EMT, Mr Fixit, whatever.

Being a student as he was, he couldn't afford beer. So instead he bought Lone Star. Which, the way he said it, was only a beer if bought in Texas. Otherwise it was piss.

But, and again his words, at least it was piss beer that he could afford on his student budget.

Morning safety checks, I'd walk into the lab where he'd been up all night and just went to bed. There would be a growing Lone Star empties pyramid. Right over the top of a rather expensive Sun MicroSystems workstation.

One Christmas week he constructed a Christmas Tree out of empty Lone Stars.

Always thought that young man was a bit peculiar.

Has beer prices taken a sharp spike in the past 6 1/2 years?

Im not saying Obama is the cause of it, but before he arrived, a 30 pack of Keystone was about $13. Now its hard to find it under $19.

45% increase in 6 + years is steep.

I don't drink. But is areas where we do trail clean-ups we find Keystone lite cans by the side of the trail 10:1 over any other brand.

I asked a cowboy that was moving a herd to the high country why Keystone Lite. He said 'cause it's cheap!

6 Cowboys and cowgirls horse mounted and moving a herd up a forest service road at 0900 hrs all had a can of Keystone Light in hand.

    Go figure!

Locust Fork, my dear. May I offer a suggestion? Next time you have a yard/garage sale, include the words Free Beer! in the ad.

Give a bottle of the stuff to everyone who shows up. A warm one, so nobody will guzzle it and litter your yard with empties.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.
