I thought I had FINALLY made it with my new business. There were several hoops to jump thru that I hadn't figured in.
Now I get a letter in the mail saying that I am in violation of the zoning ordinance....I didn't file for a Occupancy permit before I opened the store.I call and explained to them that the lease is still in the old owners name, but that didn't matter. They say since they were notified that I applied for my own tax id numbers, the process starts all over. As I am a new tenant.
They are reviewing the zoning of the property and will be coming in for a fire and building inspection.I'm not worried about that but I was talking to a customer who had tried to open a tire store here and the city did everything but say no.The killer was that they wanted fire sprinklers installed to bring the building up to code.
