I am choosing not to vote for the president, however, to my surprise, the media is making the South Carolina primary a north-south issue. The North being the American flag and the GOP, and the South being the Confederate flag and Social Issue Conservatives.

I must say, if Gingrich wins South Carolina and the media "continues to capture the genuine disrespect for any and all things politically correct," as we saw when the social issue conservatives deliver with their standing ovations to New Gingrich in the Myrtle Beach, SC, debate, then I will certainly reconsider voting republican once more. I want to see the GOP leadership get right in the face of OBama and his dirty kind at every turn! God Bless America!

I will vote against obama, and his type (not color)
every chance I get. If you don't vote against him,
then it counts as another vote for him.

Did not vote for may years. Kept moving around in the Marines so had no realreason to vote. Nothing to me was at stake.

But since I've set down roots there are more Issues I need to keep up with. Still not sure who will get my vote. Will have to see who is still running.

I'm originally from Illinois, and follow up-state "Chicago Politician's" example, by choosing to vote early and OFTEN!!! [;)]

Just finished PT and am watching the SC Primary unfold.... I predict an ever so slight victory for Gingrich, a close second for Romney, and Paul pulling in at third.

This will all but ensure an eventual split in the conservative/republican voting base and secure a re-election win for President Obama.

Exactly. It's good that you noted that though, because some people will inevitably twist what one says to make it race related...no matter how it's printed.

I vote in general elections, but not in primaries. I don't vote in a primary because Illinois requires you pick a party to vote for, and the party you pick is public information. I didn't ever want an employer to be able to use that against me so I never declared a party.

No primaries for me, either. Like some states, Arkansas requires you to register as to party. I think they should put all the names on a ballot and let the one with the most votes win. It has effectively prevented me from voting in most local elections.
