That's a really nice looking Super Grade Model 70 and chambered for a nice cartridge. I probably would have made the trade too! [^]

I figured the super grade was worth $2500 here at auction. My guns were not.[:D] All 3 of my guns were damn near mint. so I figued 6,6, and 5. But he was the one wanting those pretty lever guns.

Looks good. I have one like that in 300 H&H that's missing the rear sight blade.

Now you just need to remove the front sight, thread it and install a telescopic silencer/supressor on it.

Is there that much of a premium because it's a 1948 gun?
I don't know anything about the model 70, but I see them on the auction side for 12-1500 with leupold scopes.
regardless, I think you both did well.
anytime you can get 3 guns for 1 is good! and I'm partial to 94's

I dont think you are seeing "Super grades" go for that. I sure dont. You might be confusing them with standard grade M70's.[;)]...oh, and I didnt get 3 guns I gave 3...[:D]

Cartrod, not to sound like an *, but why do you put your rifle on the tile floor? Aren't you afraid of scratching the blueing? Or denting the stock?

Its not like a drop the gun on the floor and then spin it around into position....[:o)] Travertine makes a better back drop than carpet IMO.

Good trade for both parties if you are both happy.

nice looking rifle. I am not sure of the value of any of what you traded, but as long as you are both happy it was a great trade! Congrats
