    sorry, sure i feel for anyone that loses a loved one, but to marry a dead person is just not right in sooo many ways, we live in a scary world

    My mother's best friend is from Japan and lives on the West Coast... she's 73 now I think.

    Her husband and my father were the best of buddies.
    He was a Marine Gunny from Korea and met his wife "Kazai" while on R&R in Tokyo.
    He died about 18 years ago... but didn't stay 'gone' long.

    She sets the table everyday with his morning brewed coffee.
    Makes his favorite breakfast and places it neatly on the table...
    Then sets her husband "Bill" beside the breakfast dish and speaks to him...

    This is an everyday ritual that lasts about an hour and a half...

    When the breakfast niceties are over... She drinks the coffee, eats the oatmeal and cleans up the dishes.

    Then she puts "Bill" back on the mantle till the next day...

    Oh... and "Bill" was cremated per Japanese rights...
    Although he was from upstate New York...

    Her reasoning is she would expect him to have treated her with as much respect as she does him now.
    And she knew nothing of "New York" culture... 'cept what Bill had told her.

    Some cultures are interesting to say the least...
    Others... Well I'm not interested enough to find out.
