Hey, hell no, not me.
A forumfriend on a danish site that I frequent... quite frequently... is going to New York state for three months.
I'm not sure if it's a "pleasure trip"... or someone gave him a "hate gift" [:D]
Sorry about that hehe... [:o)] Just clowning around here.
He was asking what there is to see in New York state.
Any worthy sites to visit, any gunclubs that take foreign members and possibly rent guns and so on.
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. =o)

We have the Adirondacks & Catskill Mountains, Cooperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame), Lake Placid, Lake Champlain, Thousand Islands, Niagara Falls, Fort Ticonderoga, and much more.
I have no idea where that is... hope it helps. =o) Google-mapped it - seems to be between Manhattan and the Palisades, on the west side of the water/river/thingy.
All kiddin' aside - I enjoyed my own visit there, but only saw the south-west part of New York state.
I kind of liked the "nature" side of New York.
I go bonkers when I cross a big-city line... I just don't do well in the big cities. =o)
Contact me via Email if you wish. I suspect that we could keep your friend occupied in his down time. Between shooting, wilderness, the Fingerlakes, Corning Glass, and so much else, I suspect one weekend wouldn't quite be enough.
I mean, to get an inside view of the area - a fair bit away from the most popular tourist-areas.
There were plenty of sites to visit in 2004 =o) and you'd get a chance to meet another crazy dane. Hehe.
Haven't spoken much with him on the danish forum, but realized I have read many of his posts - so I thought I'd ask here. =o)
He's staying just outside of the jungle. If he has a car and wants to tour upstate, have him contact Spider and me. We live a stones throw from Howes Cavern, Secret Caverns, and The Baseball HoF.
Yep. Howe Caverns are very cool. My stepsons work there.
Here's their website: http://howecaverns.com/
He could also visit West Point Military Academy since he will be downstate.
That's a scenery I like - forests, nature. =o)
I forgot that you had visited the Bradford area. We're about 100 miles east of there. Country is very similar with our lakes, low mountains, and forests. The city is about 250 miles east of us and an easy drive up Rt. 17. Tell your friend that he's welcome to visit.

I don't know how "upstate" pennsylvania is - but I thoroughly enjoyed going on an ATV tour in pennsylvanias forests with PaBooger.

Oh well. =o)
But it's great to get some ideas - I'll pop this thread to him, so he might get some ideas.
Thanks guys. [:)]

Spider, I haven't been up there since 1979. Old girl friend's parents had a place in Point Rock.
Summers were quite a treat, compared with S. Jersey, warm and little humidity. Winter time was a chalange!
I really liked that area though. [^]

Hey Nord.
Sent ya' a mail =o)
The Lake George, Champlain area is nice, even in the dead of winter. He will be close to West Point, the museum is off post outside of Thayer Gate, it's worth a visit.
I think a couple of other forum-guys allready been there, and liked it too.

I think it was darned nice of Nord to offer to put your friend up for three months. [:D]
He must be brave to visit the evil Amerika [:I]
He's nuts, so he'll fit right in.

My thoughts too. =o)
Nah, he's got a place to stay. So it's just to go see someting in his downtime.
The Corning Glaas Museum is my favorite museum. If you go plan to spend the day. The Waterveldt Arsenal Museum near Albany, NY is quite a sight. They make the real big gun there.
I would also like to mention the New York State Military Museum in Saratoga Springs where I retired from three months ago.
