I never did the facebook thing.
but with the passing of my girlfriend a little while ago, I had to
go on it to tell all her friends. She was a big facebook fan.

Now I'm getting loads of junk emails when ever one of her friends
post a new pic of their dog or stuff like that.[xx(]

Is there a way I can shut off all emails from facebook??

Can't seem to do it with my email host. {GMX.com}

    I have nothing to do with Facebook, Tweeting, Twiting, or any of that "handheld device" stuff, primarily for the reason you are experiencing. You have my condolences both on your loss and on your situation.

    Keep your friends list short and most of the problems go away.

    Make the friends list people you have talked to face to face.

    to whom are these emails coming from and going to? its a notification setting that you need to edit. the question is do you have a FB page? if so and the emails are coming to you. log in to FB/ to the right of the 3 words YOUR NAME HOME FIND FRIENDS there will be some icons left one is "friends" middle one is messages to you right side one is notifications.....put your cursor over the 1st icon to the RIGHT of the globe. click it and a window will appear....click MORE SETTINGS and then the window will show up CLICK on "notifications" and then edit when, how, and what kind of notices you wish to receive. there will be an "email" notification method among others edit your little heart out.

    You can "unfriend" people and then limit all contact to "friends".
    If there are a lot, it takes a while.

    I believe there is a setting in notifications to turn off emails.

    Open the account and go to Friends (tab). On each friend listed there is a drop-down menu that has a selection---Unfriend.

    You don't have to un friend or close the account. There is a setting on the account to change so you don't get e mail notification. Any 10 year old can fix it. My granddaughter helps me with computer and phone stuff.
