My 12yo granddaughter and her chorus group sang the National Anthem at their last foot ball game of the season. Maybe half of the stadium actually stood up and put their hand over their heart. Back in the early 60s when I played football everyone stood up and held their hand over their hearts. And for some reason you didn't someone reminded you what to do. Proud to see my granddaughter knows how to act. She is the tall blonde up front next to the short black girl.

A couple of cheerleaders. The misses wanted to take these home with us.

Look at the size of the kids playing. These are 12/13yo. Has to be the roids in the milk.

Cows get shot up with roids all the time. It has to go somewhere, right?

Nice pics. I also remember having a prayer over the PA system before kick off.

I went to a HS out in the boonies in the 60s and we always had a prayer before the game. The ROTC color guard had one guy carried the American flag and the other guy carried the Christian flag.

Of course we were a bunch of dumb farmers but funny thing, we never had any school shootings or stabbings or suicides and we had respect for our teachers.

Same a our school, no shootings or stabbings a fight or two but that is going to happen. Our school still gives a prayer over the PA system every game. It is meant for the safety of all players and for the folks who travle to see the games.
Just smile and say nothing, let them guess how much you know.

im from the same type of "dumb farmers" crowd 1/2 the county was German farmers 1/2 the county was Polish. German Lutherans to the north, Polish Catholics to the south. hard working people loved the foods. and no shootings either. just didnt see the need for prayers before sporting events.

i find the comment on the size of the 12-13 yr old quite interesting. its true kids are getting bigger sooner.i was an offensive tackle in college a mid major school. AA or FCSubdivision whatever the Term-dujour is. @ 6-2 270 i was considered larger than normal in 1968 for college. today 320 is average for lineman it seems. high school players too have seen the growth spurts. better nutrition, better exercise programs..... it doesnt surprise me to see the tall lanky players seen in ur photo for 12-13yo's and in MNSHO steriods is not part of the equation i think the information available on it has curtailed its use greatly in the middle/high school athlete.
