At my daughters pawn shop she has a Revelatin bolt action 410 that i can get for 125 dollars it is clean and in good shape.

What do you think they are worth?

Is that supposed to be "revelation"? My brother had a bolt action 3" .410 when we were kids.I seem to remember it having a loading tube and it was a real PITA to reload.

Revelation guns were sold at Western Auto stores and like Sears they were made mostly by Mossberg, Stevens and Savage. That one is probably Mossberg. About any .410 is worth more than the same gun in other gauges. I would pay that much for it. I had a nice Sears bolt action 12 gauge that I sold a couple of years ago. I think for about $150 or so. Bolt shotguns tend to look unbalanced to me because of the extra length of the action but they deliver the shot as good as any other shotgun. If it's not beat to hell it's not a bad buy at all.

$125 is probably about top dollar on that gun. If you like it and need it then buy it. If not...

Around here bolt action shotguns are about $65-$75. Add another $20 for a .410. They were durable, effective, low dollar, decent quality guns, but do not command high prices. Many a first time gun buyer, farmer, or kid's Christmas involved one of those. Have about 6. Some use tube feed, some box mag, some single shot.

Unless it is your daughter that owns the shop, offer them a crisp $100 and see what happens.

a youth gun is probably the easiest to sell again for what you paid for it. its a great learning tool for basic safe gun handling techniques. dads will buy that for the beginners then resell it when the kids are ready to move up.
