No such thing as "bullet proof" ANYTHING. Bullet resistant.

many common calibers defeat it. 45-70 makes it appear to be saran wrap.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

We took some bullet resistant glass from our old HQ to the range. It was 5 layers of 1/4" glass with a membrane between each. 9 mm & 45 acp ball & HS HP from 5" barrels broke out the first 3 layers. But, 40 S&W HS HP from a 3" barrel not only broke the front 3, but crystallized the back 2. We could push a pen through what was left. Multiple hits inches apart gave similar results.
