Dryer not heating

Anyone know what part might have gone bad on a Maytag Neptune dryer. It runs but does not produce any heat.

The spring heat coil thing is broke in three parts. The dryer runs but no hear.
Is there a quick fix I can do till the parts place opens monday?
Would it heat if I twist them together?

I had the same issue a few months ago and it was the so called ignitor, which lights the gas and of course that delivers the heat. I had to have a tech come out and repalce it and he also repalced the gas regulator at the same time. This cost $100 with the Sunday service call. I had a dryer full of wet clothes so I was not in the mood to wait until Monday!

Its a fuse that controls the temp,cant think of the name yet.

Most likely the thermostat for the heater. Don

My wife's front-loading dryer stopped heating a few weeks ago.

I googled the model and went to YouTube for a "how to". I was able to fix it myself for the cost of a heating element and about an hour of my time.

I googled your model and found a few videos which may help.

I vote for thermal fuse, lint and dust get built up around the exhaust outlet , the dryer overheats and blows the thermal fuse instead of catching on fire. Just check continuity thru the fuse to determine if its bad or not.

Cracked or gunked up thermocouple is #1 in my trouble shooting list.

Then igniter or could be the auto valve that senses a lit flame.

Had a repair guy come today. It was the ignitor. He installed a new one and cleaned the lint out inside the machine. Back in business.

Funny that my gas dryer stopped heating this week also. Just some crap and probably a spider web blocking the front of the gas jet.
