Ordered some stuff last week and being shipped FedEx, It left Tampa Florida 18th, arrived and left Orlando the 19th, arrived and left Independence Ky the 20th, arrived and left Indy on the 23rd, in transit the 24th from Cincy to my local post office( which is in the middle of KY)

I will NEVER understand the thoughts behind these shipping companies...[:(!]

Same with UPS, I order from Midway and they take it to South Charleston,WV., and to Roanoke,Va and then back to Beckley,WV, which they pass on the way to VA. Beckley Terminal is 1/2 mile off I-77. Makes no sense to me.

simple. they're economizing the movements of the packages.

if you want it shipped directly from the seller to you with no bypasses, call fedex and open a custom critical freight account. it will go from door to door with nothing more than bathroom and meal stops. it will also cost you dearly.

they schedule movement to coincide with trips they already have planned. the faster you want it, the more you have to pay for it because they have to alter their pre existing schedule and/or route to some degree(small or large) to accommodate your shipment.

thats the explanation, but i think your statement of not understanding the process was more tongue in cheek than factual.
