Near Des Moines?

Just a reminder for any truck lovers out there, the 27th will
be the public viewing day for the national antique truck show in Des Moines.
They should be pulling in from Tuesday or Wednesday on but max number
should be there on Saturday.

    I won't be at this one but the year after next it is in Reno, much

    I saw a magazine article years ago where a guy took a Brockway B-62 and shortened it, split it to narrow it, and chopped just a little, then mounted on a pickup frame. It still looked like a B-62. Did a really good job. I don't think they were all that large as some were. Probably wouldn't try that with an Autocar.

    I heard they were going to have one Volvo in the show but something happened to it on the way. Something about a water pump that was not repaired correctly that caused the engine to over heat and lock up in traffic and a Swift truck crashed into it burning it to the ground. They said no one was hurt in the inferno but they did report that one bald headed guy was lying on the ground near the wreckage kicking and screaming for some unknown reason.[:D]

    Sounds like they had a great show, over 1200 entries including lots of big rigs.
