the only 74 that will last is one with all factory parts that were chromed. the CIA will rust to pieces in no time with no chrome barrel and more importantly, internal parts. the 7ns ammo we can find cheaply here is all corrosive as hell.

the ak74 is superior to the ar platform in every way. the bullet is amazing and accurate. it tumbles and shreds the hell out of whatever it hits. it penetrates vests and metals like cardboard.

you can get over 2000 rounds for 200 bucks online.

the only 5.45 i would take in on trade is a sar, with a very few exceptions. most all of them are terrible hack jobs that cant stand up to the highly corrosive ammo you can shoot out of it.

    what rifle is it?

here is a real one. no crap US parts to rust away from the corrosive ammo and no slop jobs on poorly stamped receivers.

600 bucks is a very fair price new

here is the ammo. cheapest i can find. good stuff 7ns is called the poison bullet. it is the only round you will find today with a steel core that will easily penetrate protection but for some reason hasnt been banned as AP

just look for the tapco trigger kit, if it has one... run. . you do not want a rifle that was imported demilled and built up by a company that used parts not meant to handle corrosive ammo.

buying one used is even more sketchy since most people dont know how to maintain weapons that use commie corrosive ammo. its not like our old gi stuff taht was very mild in comparison.

you also need to consider that ammo is so cheap that very few of thers rifles havent been shot all to hell.

a used one is with US parts is worth nothing to me but may fetch 300 bucks to some dumb * willing to deal with a real clunker.

a used sar will hold it's value if taken care of

There are a few very nice saiga conversions out there. Let me know when you find out and I can help you ifn ya want...
