I've been through Chattanooga, and it didn't strike me as a very big town, but it must be, to have a fire academy class with this many members.

We have a bang-up volunteer department in Wolfe City. A few years ago, when I had a bit of a heart issue, Dawnie shoved aspirins down my neck and dialed 9-1-1. There was a fire truck in my driveway, and a paramedic/firefighter in my living room while she was still on the phone with dispatch. He saw an irregularity in my EKG and I took an ambulance ride, and I ended up with a stent in my LAD. It was 95% blocked.

I have come to seriously appreciate firefighters.

We lived in Chattanooga for a year back in the early 90s. It's not a big city it's got less than a couple hundred thousand people in the city and approx. a half million in the metro area. It was a very nice place to live when we were there and probably still is today.

I was born in Chattanooga 1950, still have family there.

I'm 20 mi north of Chattanooga on I 75. I go there as little as possible. The TN river and 3 mtns surrounding it don't lend for efficient traffic flow. [:)]
