Date of manufacture? Why so many emails on HKs?

I get a decent number of emails asking questions....sometimes wanting to know the date of manufacture. I never get that question on certain guns, but you can bet if it is a SIG or HK they will want to know the date of manufacture. WHY???? I understand wanting to know condition, new, what it comes with.....but why is the date important on these two manufacturers???

Don't know, but would like to.
I think it is more of when they started having trouble,than when manufacturers actually began using MIM.
There's been a couple threads on MIM parts,recently.
