I think you will find that if you are logged on, you will see the full bidder name.

Others see the bidder like you show. If you bid on an item, it shows your name but to you only. Others only see it as you posted. Don

I can see the bidders (current high bidder) complete name on some auctions I'm bidding on, but of course I have to be logged in to see the name. Only when I'm logged out does it display a******y

Correct. Logged in=see full name. Logged out= see ***
