They're not moving to coed troops. Supposedly they'll have all boy and all girl troops. If a chartering org sees the interest in a girls troop, they can start one.
My daughter was a GS in the 80s. No real camping and outdoor stuff. I'm sure that with the way girls are now having more interest in what was previously "male" activities, that the old GS curriculum holds less interest...

I took Home Ec. in Jr, High School. All the boys laughed at me!
It didn't take long for them to figure out why I did and more and more of them started to take the class![;)]

    I did the same.

An Ex-Scoutmaster whom I known over the years had moved up within the hierarchy of the BSA, at least in his state, related to me reasons he quit.

The entire organization has been bankrupted by lawsuits. We have been forced to capitulate to the politically correct culture forced upon us by leftist activist judges. Went on to tell me the courts were further telling them to remove all references of God from their curricula. His words, not mine.

My words: DEMOCRAT activists legislating from the bench

No doubt you stressed the HANDS ON part.

Sorry Spasmcreek, with considerable respect, I don't get the objection to coed scouting. At least half of the most intelligent, capable people I have ever known have been women. If I had a daughter, I would want her to have access to every resource possible for her development as a person.

Yeah, It won't be the same, but nothing is as far as I can see. We ain't gonna stop it and complaining won't help either.

i have no objection to individual skills or qualifications...i OBJECT to the politically?? forced dismissal of long tradition that has benefitted millions for decades ...extend this out to forced open doors of ANY private club or organization...similar in my view to the forced acceptance of lgbt lifestyle into many or all aspects of American life

I took Bible Studies Instead. Think I was the only male in the class. But wish I had taken Home Ec. It may have helped with the single life I have lead.
