It now has 275,000 miles on it. I would guess that over half the miles on the car are interstate miles. She drives 100 miles a day to work and back. Mostly interstate miles.

My wife maintains a car like an OCD person washing their hands. Every 5,000 miles or less depending on if we were going to take a trip somewhere she would change it early.

She had 0 problems until about 75,000 miles and she had to replace a ball joint so she redid all the ball joints.

Then she did not have a problem until around 100,000 miles give or take.

The rear end went out and it was about 1200 dollars to fix it. They had to fix it about 8 or 9 times because it kept breaking. After the first time Ford paid for the parts and labor along with a courtesy vehicle.

Other than brakes, tires, batteries, belts she has not had any problems. I did forget that she had to have her inside door panels replace because one was peeling and it was driving her crazy. They replaced it with some kind of material thats used on super cars and it is super nice.

At 275,000 miles her car does not use oil. This weekend she is getting a new timing chain and water pump and belt.. The waterpump has a little leak in the weep hole.

Her Ford is still going strong at 275,000. All my cars have lasted between 200,000 and 287,000.

Her car runs and drives like it is brand new.

Oh i almost forgot that she is going to have a big problem soon because her blower/vent/ or something is starting to stick so in the near future it will be a pain to take the dash apart.

I am thinking this is the best car Ford has ever made. LOL

In 8 years the car has never broke down on the side of the road.

However if the car has a problem like starting slow either the battery or the starter would be replaced within the week.

She is thinking about getting the top replaced before it starts leaking. She is crazy about car maintenance.

All in all im impressed with the Mustang and i am not a Ford guy.

My wife works for Cummings diesel plant on new products so she knows her maintenance stuff.

It was funny a person tried to tell her she needed this and that or she was going to be broke down on the side of the road.

When she got through with him he was really really embarrassed. He tried to pull the stunt in front of other customers.

My wife grew up around race tracks and her dad being a mechanic/machinist. She's pretty knowledgeable about vehicles.
She worked one job at quick lube shop, mainly at the register. She was also a certified lube tech and could/did work any position on the line.
Guys would come in quite often with a question/complaint/concern. When my wife asked how she could help they all insisted in talking to 'one of the guys'.
She would call over, one of the guys. The guy would let the customer go on and on and on. When the customer was done the guy would say,gee I don't know, you should ask Denise,,she trained me/she's a certified tech I'm still learning,,,.
