Seattle Buy Back Turns Into Public Gunshow

Private buyers worked the buyback line and offered cash amounts greater than the cheapo official gift cards. After all, why sell your AR-15 to the city for a $200 gift card when some guy with a handfull of $100 bills is waving them in your face? [:D][:D] All totally legal. [:)]

I'm surprised the police did not interfere and start charging potential buyers with "disorderly conduct" or "obstructing the highway", two catch-all charges they use when nothing else is appropriate![;)]

Kinda makes me wish they would hold one near me so I could round up any rusted out old pieces of junk and sell them back. Then turn around and use the proceeds, plus some of my own cash, to work the line and find some bargains. [:D][:D] You have to figure that most of the dorks in that line are not "gun folks" who have any idea of the value of their guns. What an opportunity!

Just have one of your own. Get a few friends with money and set up a table at Target parking lot near you.

Good!! I'm glad those guns are getting into the right hands finally... anyone who would give up an ar for 200 dollars didn't deserve it to begin with

That used to be what "gun shows" were all about. [xx(] But, over the years, they got totally commercialized and the prices shot through the roof. I've thought about it though.

I saw a clean Python, several decent S&W's and a nice O/U or two in the "buyback bin" of evil guns that the LAPD put out to the press. I hope the Python owner liked their 150 dollar gift card to alocal grocery store, he/she pissed away an additional grand.

Lots of footage on it around here. It was a beautiful thing to watch. Appeared to me that there were just as many that turned them in to be destroyed as there were that sold them FTF.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Since they usually come "No questions asked" you gotta wonder how many of them valuable guns are stolen?

Don't recall the exact details, but I remember reading, probably on here,
A c&p about the police arresting fellars "outbidding" them at a buy back.

They traced all the guns he bought, found 1 was stolen.

Charged him with possession of a stolen firearm, and put the screws to him.

    Your mileage may vary.

Guess they don't run a check to see if they are stolen so they can be returned to their rightful owners. Guess recieving stolen property and destroying evidence of a crime is no longer a crime if it is a gun buy back.
