Did the laws change for handgun shipping in the 2 years since I worked in a gun store?
I thought pistols had to go FFL to FFL for transferring.
To add heft and mass for better ballistics.

The laws are the same. You were incorrect in that thought. Pistols only have to go ffl to ffl if you want to *mail* them. I could ship a pistol to an appropriately licensed individual in my state, or to an ffl in any state; but as a non licensee I cannot mail a pistol regardless of state lines.
That being said, some dealers won't accept guns from non licensees, either because they're ignorant of the laws or just too scared of the ATF to abide by their laws...
WHAT does he sell 22 LR ammo also[V]
Nope but he has 9mm Federal 115gr FMJ for $200 for 500 rds + $35 shipping[V]
That come out to 47 cents a round for 9mm ammo. [:0][:0][xx(]
Since when is it illegal to own an LCP in NYS?
Not illegal in ma either...
The seller does not understand federal firearms laws, which is the sort of ignorance that may explain why some FFLs do not accept shipment from non-licensees.

As most here know an FFL may ship USPS, there's no cheaper way to ship a handgun. I found this gun shop near me and have never been charged over $25 to ship a handgun:

If you find a local FFL to ship a handgun you sold, do yourself a favor. Drop by a USPS office and pickup a Priority Mail Flat Rate Box to fit. Pre-pack your gun, but do not seal it up. Take that open box into your local gun shop to ship for you. With part of the work already done you start out making a good impression.
I've done it on a half dozen handguns, best deal there is.
The deal on that raspberry Ruger mousegun though, well now that's just nuts. Price that high, somebody doesn't really want to sell it.
Kev's post sums it up: A non-licensee can ship any firearm to an FFL in any state. Period.

yes and no, just because we know the laws doesn't mean all ffl's know them or abide by them, he states "Make sure that your FFL will accept a gun from a non FFL"
and as proof even in this thread we have an ex-gun store employee who thinks it is not legal

In jakes limited defense, he was a hired hand. A counter monkey, not a boss or the licensee. He isn't required to be an expert on interstate firearms laws to work in that capacity.
Now, as both an enthusiast and a long standing member(and moderator) here(where this topic is a painfully frequent topic, the above excuse is invalidated. He should know better. I'm also not surprised he didn't...
