Mannix goes into a bar and a band is playing. It is Buffalo Springfield playing "Bluebird." From 1967. Stills and Young were big then, but not really big, yet.
If you watch it to the end there is another Mannix episode where he is in a bar where Neal Diamond is playing.

No, but the guy that sat down was Tom Skerrit - was in MASH, Cheers, Aliens & pretty well known.
I heard Steven Stills auditioned for the Monkees but wasn't chosen because he had an unsightly smile, for what it's worth.
He also played the commander in Top Gun. Very good actor.
