My son and my daughter in-law have skimped, and saved to secure a trip to Disney.

They have it all paid for and reserved. They are going to Florida Disney in 18 days for two weeks. They got a condo rented.

The four kids have no clue this is coming. They are going to surprise them about three hours before they leave. I'm so excited for all of them.

Do you work any certain area?

It'll be 3 girls and 1 boy, with mom and dad. They will be jumping up and down screaming the whole time. (that should narrow it down for you)

I work in the tunnel under the castle so I would not be able to see them on the job but meeting them for coffee some morning would be great.
Savage170 works at Barnstormer which is a kiddie roller coaster in the magic kingdom. He is a master at hiding away from guests so they probably would never get to see him working either. I have met many from this forum for breakfast at "The Wilderness Lodge " and savage170 has joined us when he can.

Our family has fond memories of times spent at Disneyland when our daughter was growing up; great times!!! One of the very few upsides of working in the Los Angeles area and living in Lancaster is we were close enough to celebrate several of our daughter's birthdays at Disneyland and we'd stay at the Disney Hotel. Unfortunately, we never made it to Disneyworld.

We're certainly closer now that we live in East Texas than when we lived in Southern California! [:D]

My kids first time to the House of Mouse, they had no clue. Even after waiting 20 minutes checking in at Ft. Wilderness , we were backing into the campsite and I asked them where they were. Oh, some campground in Florida....

Then they saw Chip and Dale walking through the campground... [8D] We've been back several times since then.

That would be way cool, and I would feel better if they had contact info of a local. I'll run it by him.

We took Chris when he was 10. He thought we were going to Sanibel again. Every year, we would drive down 4, pass the entrance to Disney and never stop. That year, we hooked a right and pulled up to the Yacht and Beach Club, next to Epcot. Never seen eyes so big when we told him we were at our destination for the next 10 days.[:)] I don't know who was more excited, Me or Chris. That was the best vacation I have ever been on. Cannot wait to go again. Disney is magical. Good for your soul, no matter how old you are. Oakie

I live about 2 1/2 hours SW of Disney World. My two kids have no desire or wish to go there.
My 13yr old was there once when she was 7. My 9yr old, he really doesn't care to go.
After looking at the price of tickets, there is no way I would spend that kind of money.
Being Florida residents, they have specials for us but it would still cost $500+ to just get in the gate.
Last time I was there is cost me $85 to get in the gate as a Florida resident.
Sorry didn't mean to be a downer.

I've been called "space mountain" a time or two.

Stole that from Ric Flair. [;)]

The mrs won an all expenses paid trip three years ago. It was awesome!
We only paid for the upgrade to the interior room at the safari hotel. And food.

I've been several times as a kid and adult. Got to say, the magic is back. Although there was a stretch where it wasn't much to the experience.
