42 years and counting!
i am more afraid of those people who are afraid of Friday the 13th [:D]
Had the rear window replaced here, and he must have left the hatch open.
Then go to jump with the van Same thing Click Click.
,open the hood on the van and terminals corroded (my fault). Cleaned off and broke one of the clamps off. Got a C-Clamp and clamped to terminal, Van starts up.
So jump the Honda Great it works. Took the Battery cables off and the van dies.
Run to town and visit bank and Post Office, Honda still starts.
Get battery clamps at the Auto store, and go back home and put new ones on the van. Starts right up no problem.
But.. going to town tomorrow have both checked.
Did I mention the rear hatch of the Honda was scratched, from installer. Got to call them, and let off steam. And ... The pharmacy called and I have a $ 1500.00 medication to pick up.
I got called in today at 4:30, and I've had more calls today then any day last year. Go figure.
Coinckydink I guess.
So I get up to a beautiful clear cold morning with 8" of snow. Head off to work, and right as I'm pulling into work I see our on call guy heading out....that usually doesn't mean good times are ahead. Sure enough we have a water main break, get the guys rounded up and head out with all of the rigs chained up. Guys get there and realize that the main is about 6 feet deep, so the hole needs to be shored up. With the cold conditions the shoring jacks are frozen and need to be thawed out with a torch. Finally get things in working order, and ring ring ring, another main break. I have a few guys start to head over to the second leak, and in the process of backfilling the first leak, a chunk of frozen rock comes out of the back of the dump truck and breaks the customer line from the meter to the house...another fix.
Guys on the second leak call me and said that the shear break was to close to a bell, and a repair band couldn't be used, and that they would need to sleeve in a new piece of pipe. I go out in the yard and find a short piece of 6" ductile under all of the snow. Of course it's froze to the ground and I can't lift it. I goes and gets the fork lift to break it free, and just like I figured would happen, the fork lift gets stuck in the snow. Go get a loader and a chain and get it unstuck, load the pipe and head towards the job. By now it's 1PM and I knew that my guys hadn't eaten yet, so I swing by Mickey D's and get them some grub. It's so icy out that the gal in front of me in the drive thru gets sideways and hits the building. 10 minutes later I get my food and realize that they shorted my 3 fries, so I gotta deal with that. Get to the job and one of my guys has slipped and thought that he broke his arm....Good gawd, it's only 2 o'clock, 3 more hours to go......[B)]
