    Trijicon has a 12 year guarantee I believe.

    I can only speak on my own experience...
    Put a set on the 1st sig 229 I bought in 1992. They only went 17 years before
    they were too dim to be effective. The 2nd set is still going strong. Thats the only handgun Ive had for that length of time with night sights on it. Keep oil and solvents
    away from them and they should go for a long long time.

    Thank you. 12-17 years sounds reasonable to me,,[^][^][^]

    i have a pair on my 92fc that i had put on in 89 when they first came out {you had to send in every gun} they where super bright for well over 10 years maybe 15 before they started to diminish {i just took them out of the safe for you joe}

    all these years later they are slightly dimmer than the pair of novak combat sights i put on around 11 years ago that already have diminished {dont make em like they used too}

    they work great at the range, but i have to admit im not a fan, i only put the combat sights on my 1911 because they where low profile and adjustable, i do believe that if you cannot see your sights, odds are you cannot identify your target, sure there are exceptions to every rule {someone will be along with a scenario soon}

    Well I think that is a really good life span on them. I'll be very happy to get that out of ours. My Kimber has them,factory set and Denise's SIG 238 has them,factory also.

    How faded would you say they are,gunny? Too dim for your liking or are they completely gone? Never knew or really thought about how long they last,until just the other day I was thinking about it. Thanks for replying.

    I had a set on a colt I bought ( and sold later ) but sent the sights back in they replaced for some modest cost ) been too long to remember but they were very helpful , even milled and added a front sight to the slide for me

    I bought a Glock 19 with factory installed Trijicon night sights in March of 2000. They are still going strong.

    Got a new set of Trijicons on the SP2340 this year, said they were good for 12 years. All my other "night-sighted" guns use a clear glow-in-the-dark paint that has outlasted tritium's by 6 years.
    It's reassuring to open the safe & see all those little cat eyes looking back! The paint only needs a few seconds of UV or white light to recharge, and they glow for hours.

    I was going to make a post about super-bright Chernobyl sights guaranteed to outlive you, but you guys kept this serious so I didn't.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

    I have two Sig 226s with night sights. One from 2003 and one from 2005. Both have diminished in brightness but you can still see them well enough to get a sight picture at midnight.
    Come to think of it, I have never fired them at night, so I guess it doesn't really matter whether they work or not.

    Joe, not personally, but I plan to after I tried a friend's gun that he had done. He did recommend using the base coat they sell too.
    The diff between this and Tritium night sights, you have to expose this to light to charge up.
    I hear it has good results on fishing lures too.

    Definitely worth trying. Thanks again.
