Some of you know that I have been attending the police academy for the last 3 months or so, and I just wanted to take this opportunity to update everyone who is interested.
We started our final test-out scenarios today. We have a total of 4 eight hour days of scenario testing, and I am pleased to say that I have passed all of the scenarios scheduled for Day 1.
Days 2-4 are next week, and I am feeling confident in my training and abilities that I can successfully complete the scenarios that they throw at me next week. Graduation is next week Friday.
Wish me luck!

I have 3 irons in 3 different fires right now, and I'm waiting to see which one turns out.
Iron One: I'm being considered for one of two driver trainer positions at my current job. Last I knew, there were 3 others who were being considered, so I should have pretty good odds of landing this promotion.
Iron Two: I have been accepted to the EMT program at the tech school from which I received my Associate's Degree. I still need to register for the class (one 5-credit class), but it looks as though I'll be able to work on this one even if Iron One turns out, as the class is offered on Saturdays.
Iron Three: I turned in my application today for my local police department. They have one opening, and I'm already registered for the employment pre-screening tests--both written and physical fitness--which are scheduled for April 13. Registering for these tests cost me $99 out of my own pocket, not counting the fuel cost to travel to and from the testing site.
Today I also finished the Ju-87G-2 Stuka Kanonenvogel, and hung it from the ceiling with its air superiority fighter cousins.
Try and find a copy of "The Last Dragon Of Steeple Morden" It's a great book I think you would enjoy.
I was lucky enough to meet Bill Cullerton before he passed and got an autographed copy.
Good luck on your endeavors.
Mike
If'n you wanna turn one of them iron's into something REAL...
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
One of my favorite books was rejected by 121 different publishers before getting picked up and eventually selling millions and millions of copies.
My point is: keep putting irons in the fire until you get what you want!
Hope all three work out and you get to decide what job is best.
I used to be a paramedic, and am now a truck driver, both are good careers.
