On the older S&W guns I think that I'm correct in thinking that the commemorative guns (such as the 125th anniversary models) came in walnut boxes, with smooth stocks. What about other guns that came in a walnut case that didn't represent a certain event? Is/was there a rhyme or reason of which guns came w/the walnut presentation boxes?? After seeing your thread with your model 25's, I need a model 25 in LC to scratch a long standing itch. Thanks in advance.
