I think NC was a better team. Coaching made the difference for sure. Did you notice that the first Texas pitcher threw a strike on almost every first pitch. Not one NC batter would swing on the first pitch. Congrats to those Texas Little Leaguers.

The Southeast champion team from Greenville, North Carolina was a very good team. When they went up 5-0 after the 2nd inning I thought it was all over for the Lufkin team, but Lufkin had tenacity! It was a pretty good game!

That's my boys!!!! It did look bleak for Texas fans, but Lil' chub Clayton Wigley tagged a very good pitcher to start the Texas comeback in the 4th inning on a two run homer. The very thing that made NC famous at Williamsport was their pitching, and it came to an end when Carson Hardee was pulled after 4 & 2/3 innings due to his pitch count, while Texas pitchers and hot bats shut out NC in the final three innings. What a game. Hats off to both teams and coaches!!!!!
