My Taurus broke

I bought a Taurus 92AF many years ago, early 1990's, from a dealer in Alaska. It has been shot many thousands of times with little care or cleaning. Up until yesterday it has been utterly amazingly reliable.
I took it out yesterday plinking on the back range. After 50 rounds or so it would not fire or cycle, the hammer was down.
I pulled off the slide and could see a round in the chamber, that made me nervous. I got the recoil spring out but the barrel would not drop free, looking at the top of the slide it appeared one of the lock lugs on the cam was cattywompus in its slide lock recess. After a bit of jiggling the barrel came out. One of the lock tabs on the barrel cam was busted clean off jamming the slide; the case was fired, factory Winchester.
I went to the Taurus site finding the place to fill out the form for warranty returns, intending to send it Monday. It requires you to put the serial number of the gun into a box to start the process. I did just that. The site popped up a box telling me only USA delivered guns were covered by the warranty, please call customer service, at (800) taurus-sux.
You are darn tootin' I'm calling customer Service Monday. At last check Alaska is part of the USA. We bought it from Russia for 2 cents an acre.
I want my gun fixed so I can shoot the stuffing out of it for another 20+ years.

Make sure they give you a new pin and plunger. I'm not sure about Taurus, but Beretta has changed specs on those parts in the last few years. Their old plunger does not fit in the new locking block.
Ignore this if that is not the part you are talking about. [;)]

I will send the whole gun back to them to fix as required by their policy. Me thinks a new slide may be in order too. The mating surface of the slide are a bit deformed where the lug failed and jammed. The Taurus is a drop in replacement for the Beretta, being made on the same machinery located in Brazil not Italy.
Now, as they age, I am seeing exactly what you describe. Usually, by that time, the small rails on the barrel have taken a beating, too. Barrel Assy and the slide get replaced.
Take it to your local FORD Dealer OH wrong kind of Taurus.[;)]
that's what I thought before I opened the thread,,[:D][:D][:D]
Taurus will make it right.

Bruce, Tauri have been imported by several companies. While you may have bought it in Alaska, it may have been imported before Braztech became the distributor, or it may have been a "gray market" gun. In any case, if it's not marked "Braztech", you are SOL; Braztech service will not perform any repairs, warranty or otherwise, on a gun that their records show that they didn't import.

Well that would suck.
