Unfortunately, because of how hard I had to push, I wasn't able to take many pics. I think I saw 3 semi accidents.
The truck
Donner Lake
Cabela's - Reno
Cabela's - somewhere else (I tried to get a photo of the water tower that said "World Headquarters")

That Bridge over the freeway in Kearney Nebraska Was where I learned about the twin towers on 9/11 I was driving to Nauvoo to work then, about mid morning I saw the bridge and wondered what it was. it had a tune your radio to a certain frequency to hear about it. Thats when I heard. listened to the radio the rest of the way until ten that night before I got to see any pictures.
Ahh, I get all warm and fuzzy seeing road trip photos!
I would have taken more but I had 60 hours to get from Sacramento, CA to King of Prussia, PA. In a truck that had a max speed of 70 on flat ground with no wind, I had to push pretty hard.
Friend 1: Oh, I like that one.
Beatrice : It's so quick! It's just like my car insurance. I saved fifteen percent in just fifteen minutes.
Friend 2: I saved more than that in half the time.
Beatrice: I unfriend you.
Friend 2: That's not how it works. That's not how any of this works.
Fifteen minutes for a quote isn't how it works anymore. With Esurance, 7? minutes could save you on car insurance. Welcome to the modern world. ""

King of Prussia! There is a "new" Geno's franchise across from the mall. Decent chow and excellent service!
I didn't know to look for it but it was also about 6:30 in the morning when I pulled out of the mall parking lot. At that point, I had been up 24 hours straight and had only slept for about 3 hours before that. I slept less than 6 hours in a 72 hour span.
You sticking around now?
Too late to tell you . . . there's an excellent truck stop just inside the Iowa eastern Iowa line . . .
You sticking around now?
Nope. I was on a flight home the same day I arrived. I basically only stopped for fuel. An hour long nap in the truck in Tooele, UT, an hour long nap in Rawlins, WY, and a 4 hours in a hotel just before Omaha, NE. I stopped for a hearty meal just before Omaha as well.
I did pass a truck stop that advertised as being the world's largest truck stop though. I don't remember which state it was in. Did I even go through Iowa? I can't remember.
Did you guys ever get that little strip o'crap off the windshield... ?
Nope. It stayed on through every storm and windshield cleaning. I think it was some sort of epoxy.

About once every five years I drive from SF to East Sandwich, MA. Of course the Cabela's at Reno is always a stop but I've also visited the one in NB & WY too. Scheels in Reno (in Sparks actually) is a great place for guns too. I like King of Prussia and York too, great beers, the "Thaddeus Stevens Highway" near Lancaster is named after a family member.
If you happen along the NV UT border there's a road just off the Bonneville Salt Flats - one side is UT, the other NV. I forget the name but there's a casino on the NV side and what great rooms they have for cheap. I think there was a palm tree in mine last time!
Dfletcher - I think you are talking about Wendover. All the Casinos are on one side. There is a big line right across the road.
Yep - that's it.
Look over your right shoulder. You can see my house from there. Well, you know, if you could see about 80 miles. [:D]

You sound like a long hauler now.[:D]
How's your back after driving that kidney buster bobtail across the country?

Kidneys are fine. Shoulders were pretty tight. Long haulers wouldn't be allowed to do what I did. Completely against the law for those that have to follow regulations.
