Too much water is not good for you

There have been several cases of people dying from water intoxication, the most recent was a woman in competition called 'Hold your wee for a Wii'. Basically, the competition was to see how much water you could drink without going to the bathroom in order to win a Nintendo Wii. Unfortunately, Jennifer Strange, 28, died in her home soon after leaving the competition. If you want to read more about this, check out the article at msnbc.

that's odd...I mean that she'd die from that in a home environment...

generally "water intoxication" (hyponatremia) occurs when you keep drinking plain water while exercising vigorously (like a marathoner, or soldier on a tough forced march)

Once you sweat out enough salts without replenishing them from food or and electrolyte beverage, very BAD things happen to your body.
There's a reason why cliche TV football coach gives out salt tablets by the handful [;)]

I heard about a little boy that nearly drown in a swimming pool dying because they "thought" he was fine because he was breathing and talking. They didn't take him to the hospital and he "drown" later at home. I think he was 6 years old.

Sad circumstances and even sadder outcomes.

( I believe that pushing too much plain water can in effect "leach" electrolytes from the system or delute the electroytes in the body sysetem so much that it starts shutting down or "short-circuting" and can eventually culminate in death. [:(]

Strenuous exercise is not even required to cause bad outcomes! [:(] )

That got to be longer than that. I remember Mark and Brian (I think it was them) who had that Middle Eastern dude making those people do that. I also remember Super Bowel [:D]. Making that dude weigh out poop after Super Bowl.

If you look at the date, it was Jan 2007. I don't remember the DJ's names, but it wasn't Mark & Brian. There were 3 of them, 2 guys and a girl. I loved that radio station. It went down hill after they left. I actually won tickets to Disney on Ice from them.
