sugar tax!

congress will be debating a bill to tax soft drinks that contain sugar. "Sugar is bad for you!" Yet what they don't understand is that mammals must have glucose as "fuel" for our bodies. when all of the carbohydrates are used up in your body you metabolise fat, after that proteins. Then you go into ketosis and your breath smells like kerosene. Not good. It's going to become a nanny state where the government tells you what is best for you and how you will live.

    Another example of "junk science".

There is nothing to back up this assertion. Just another tax so the government can waste tax money.

    Its way out of control!!![:(!]

Before long congress is going to try and pass a flat rate breath tax just to breath the air. They will try and tax the oxygen that all the oxygen producing plants are making. Simply because the plant that put that oxygen off is on property that they already tax.

Where do you get the idea sugar is bad for you? It is a natural element in almost everything we eat.

The fools in DC are just trying to get it where they have 80% of our money one way or the other.

    Right, your body needs glucose.

Not frucrose or sucrose, or any of the MANY non glucose sugars.
Your body MAKES glucose. Those sugars in junk foods are not easily processed much less, they don't turn completely TO glucose. Your body actually MAKES glucose more efficently form starchy foods like pasta and potatoes.

SO.... I hope they tax the hell out of junk foods. Time for ya'll fatty fats to start paying YOUR sin taxes. [}:)]

Your body can make glucose from starches ie - you will make glucose from eeating plain bread, or spaghetti.
Your body always has glucose in it.
Your muscles store Glycogen- which is a long chain of glucose.

As your body metabolizes glucose - it first turns it into Fructose 1,6 bisphosphate.
So at any given time, you will have a small amount of fructose in your body

Sucrose will be in just about any vegetable, fruit, or misculaneous plant matter.

Any law taxing sugar will undoubtedly set some stupid arbitrary limit to sugar content.

If people would exercise and not stuff their face so much, they could have their really sweet added sugar drinks (in moderation), and be just fine.

Another application of "nickle and dime" tax. The Dems plan is to not tax us outright but to "nickle and dime" us to get the money they need. That way most won't realize they are even doing it.

I was watching "Demolition Man" a few days ago and I remember in the movie anything bad for you (salt, booze, etc) was banned. Then I also remember in "Quantum Leap" (I think it was the Rain making episode) fatty foods like fried chicken was a no no (in the future). I figure with the way things are going all the things I seen on tv will come true.

Also in "Demolition Man" Arnold was elected President. Funny thing is with Obama's questionable citizenship has set up a precedence which Arnold could get that Presidential Library. Too bad he won't be able to swing that in current situation in California. Unless he legalizes dope and 'roids which he was seen using in his early films in body building.

The only way Ubi-bama can get enough money is to find a way to tax all the bribes in DC.
