Gun store find.

Colt Detective Special (.38 spcl) later revision - heavy bbl and shrouded ejector, in blue, very little holster wear around the muzzle, some superficial tarnish here and there, a crack in the left stock, yet very smooth action and mechanically sound.

$299 + tax.

How did I do?

Good. You can never go wrong with a smith. I've been looking for some of those old, tiny smith .32 short revolvers.

    Yes, I know!

I even came across a S&W model 27 which I purchased about a month ago.

The latest fad locally is plastic crappola imported from South America and Eastern Europe, therefore, there is big supply but little demand in the market for classic revolvers.

    I don't mind one bit.

Just don't make it too tacticool like a full-on assault pistol. The gun shop owner would object.[:D]
