Knives As Christmas Gifts?

Some folk don't believe in giving a knife as a gift, but if you do, I have some pretty nice gifts here:

http://www.GunBroker.com/Pocket-Knives/BI.aspx?IncludeSellers=3012

All are of good to excellent quality. Some nicer than others. Some are priced cheaper than the cost to ship. Of course, if you buy more than one, and I can safely get them all into a Small Flat Rate box, all can ship for one money.

Thanks!

I gave away a box full of knifes to some relitives down south once while taking my dad on a family venture before he passed away .
he was one who told me it was bad luck to give a knife away I know even some will give a penny for them to take away the bad luck ??
any way thanks for the link to the auctions

A gift of a knife requires a penny back so the gift does not cut the relationship. An old hillbilly belief.

    I resemble that remark [:D]

I always heard it was bad luck to give them away but it was ok to just leave them some place. I have one that a butcher left at my folks home 40 plus years ago.

My wife has given me many knives as gifts, now if I could just get her to do the same with guns!

You have some nice knives David. I like to give Buck 110 knives as gifts to young boys. They are a gift that last a lifetime. My dad gave me one for Christmas when I was 14 and I did the same thing for my son. A good knife is something a young man treasures. David, all of these knives you have are nice and would make outstanding gifts.[;)] I collect knives and seen a few I don't have in your listings. I really like the buck, at the end. Oakie

My dad gave me a Primble pocket knife for Christmas in 1973. Still in my pocket as I type. So yes, knives as a Christmas gift!

My mother gave my son Travis a very nice Uncle Henry for Christmas when he was 10. Razor sharp it was, and it cost me an ER visit when Travis cut the tip of a finger off with it.

I don't believe in such superstitions, but I do like the ritual of giving a penny with a knife, to have it returned to you. A lot of things in this world need to be carried on, so that these tales and beliefs won't be lost forever. I leave pennies on tombstones, too.

    Peace

I received a fantastic 8 inch chef's knife for Christmas last year. It's my most used knife in the kitchen.

I was at a co-worker's birthday party where her mother a Dutchie made a small fuss about that. So my Panamanian friend looked at me "WTH?" I just looked at her and said "it's a White thing" and I guess that was good enough explanation for her [:D].

    So why is that?
