My S&W 65-4(no not the original box)..for this mint 4006

If you attachment value to the 65-4 is less than $ 200.00, go with the trade.

From completed auctions, the value of the 4006 is slightly higher, though I did not see any 65-4 with the grips that you have on yours.

Yeah I know the values are similar, its that whole attachment thing. [;)] The faux ivory Adams grips are $30.
Keep the 66, buy the auto.
Gun fund is low, have to pay for the work on my DAWGSLED. Will probably keep the 65, but that is a fine 4006. Carried a 5906 on the job for a year or so before we changed to Glocks.
But it's your prerogative
Smith auto's,,,not so much,,,
YMMV,,
My reason has nothing to do with value or perceived appreciation.
S&W autos just do not feel right in my hand. But I bought a 4006 when they came out. I do like the way they look. Shooting it was not that bad, but the safety lever on the right side flew off and amazingly I found it and the tiny spring, stuck it back together and went back to the gun store and traded it for a Colt 1911.
