Unbelievable, this Border Collie has no eyes yet chases a ball, makes her way around the family farm and seems to have no problems navigating. If you watch the video, you can see the dog's ears are always fully erect and aimed forward when she is walking or running. I wonder if the dog has developed some sort of echo location sonar similar to what bats use? Amazing.

One of our dogs lost her sight several years ago. After a period of adjustment, she actually gets around fairly well. It still broke my heart when it happened. It took a while, but the other dogs caught on that something was wrong and they now accommodate her. When they take off for the back yard she puts her nose on the hip of another dog and follows along. She does the same thing to me when I walk through the house. She will "heel" with her nose on my thigh. When she walks alone she tips her head forward and uses her ears as feelers.

    Absolutely amazing...

Our eldest post one eye as many of you know...
She's not missed it at all.

We also had an older dog that has long since went on to Rainbow Bridge.
She lost her eyesight about three years or so before she passed.
She would do like doc says and tilt her head when she was by herself.
But when she was around either of the other dogs they watched out for her and she depended upon them to guide her.

Animals adapt to most any situation... And to me it IS Amazing!!!
