I've known since high school I wanted to be a landscaper. I have done it part time for the last 10 years. I just don't have the guts to try and make a living at it.
Well I wanted to be a pimp, but that didnt work out to well, big shortage of ho's back then, if I would have known then what I know now I would have invented crack [;)]
11 or 12. Biology class-had a great elementary school biology class--Mrs Trickett. Made a career out of wildlife and fisheries and wetlands. Help oil companies get permits to install new pipelines and facilities and work on oil spills all over the country.
Always wanted to open up my own gun shop. Nothing big, just something that would fit this town well. After at least two decades of hoping, dreaming, and praying, I've finally convinced myself that it will likely never happen. 9-5 working for someone else from here on out, I guess.[V][B)]
An unarmed man can only flee from evil, and evil is not overcome by fleeing from it.

Never underestimate the possibility of a small business loan.
My Father started his own business in October of 1969. I was 10 years old. I started working weekends, school breaks, and summers from the beginning. I always wanted to be a business man, just like my dad. I came to work 6/4/79 full time and here, I still am today! Still selling screws, nuts, and bolts..........Yup, not much else more boring!
Now, I want to be a Cowboy when I grow up!![:D]
I must be missing something because the answer is so simple...
I knew early on what I was going to do. Probably before the age of five... WORK! Now, at the age of sixty four, I'm still undecided about a career but work was never in doubt.[:D]

Yep, 52 for me, but same deal. I have given up on all my dreams, and would just settle for a job I could like, and pay the bills on.
Knew what I wanted to do at about 14. Worked at it till about 40 and realized I wasn't able to make money on a consistent basis and found something else at 45 with a paycheck and benefits. Wish I had gone the other way and gone with the paycheck and benefits early so I could retire early and do something I enjoy.
I was astonished when I was 10 or 12, all these kids would say "I am going to be a doctor. Or, I am going to be an engineer."
I just couldn't figure out what "career" was good for me, I didn't even like to think about it.
I often thought about Davy Crockett and living on the frontier in a log cabin with a flintlock rifle. I guess I was born 200 years too late.
The Three Stooges convinced me I wanted to be a comedian. Annette Funicello convinced me I wanted to be a Mouseketeer. Roy Rogers convinced me I wanted to be a cowboy. Lee Petty convinced me I wanted to be a race car driver.
By the time I had to actually choose a career, I was totally stumped. At 64 and retired, I'm still looking at possibilities. [:o)]
At 47 still not sure, been the construction, retail , security and fire/ EMS. Been in the Industrial auction line for the last 12 yrs and that's goin down the tubes fast.
Got a job at 18 years old working in a machine shop. Thought that was pretty cool. Got laid off, joined the Navy and was a Machinery Repairman (AKA inside Machinist). Retired after 20 and went to work for the Shipyards as an Outside Machinist (AKA Machinist Mate or Hole Snipe). Still not sure of what I want to do when I grow up though.......
52 and still undecided.
I was around 15 yrs old. Staying with my grandad in the hospital. He had COPD and was getting breathing txs from a Respiratory Therapist. I have always enjoyed helping others, so I became a Respiratory Therapist. I did that for a few years, then went into Medical Sales. Then opened a sleep lab. I'm doing both these days.

Allen... You weren't born 200 years too late... You pretty much live that way now.
Enough so you ought to call y'er self "Davey"... [;)]
(With an e of course to distinguish you from the original Davy Crockett...)
I loved that Log Home you built up on the mountain... Simply gorgeous!!!
