I will say this only once, so listen to what I have to say PLEASE. I am NOT a church going person, so let me state that up front.
As I sat out in the waiting area to give my victim impact statement to the court, I was thinking of all the places I could bury this guy. Hell, I didn't care if i got caught. Revenge was going to be mine[;)] It started to consume me and burn a hole through my heart. Just as I was about to be called, a voice came to me. I thought, what the hell is going on. I started staring at the people around me. This voice appeared on my mind and said,"Forgive this man and heal thy son and live a rich life , with thy comfort and blessings I have en stowed upon you my son. If thy does not, I shall let you dwell in thy darkness and live in the horrendous turmoil you have created for yourself and your family. Go in peace.
Holy poop, God just spoke to me. I had to scramble for a few minutes. as the bailiff called my name, I asked if i could have about ten minutes to compose myself. The court allowed my request. I then went into the court and in front of my shocked wife and God, I forgave the man that did this to my son. As the words flowed from me, I looked at my son and he had a smile from ear to ear. I could feel the healing come over me and begin from that day forward. My wife, struggled to come to grips with her own daemons and fell into the bottle, where she has been for 10 years now. She is just recovering.
Rodger, I know what your are thinking and feeling, as I was the parent in your situation. The day will come for you to my friend and you will have a path to choose also. I cannot tell you which one to take, only you can make that choice. Just be prepared to help your grand daughter heal with all your love and conviction. Do not dwell on it, especially in front of her. Don't talk about it to her, unless she brings it up. Do not treat her any different in regards to being extra nice. Children pick up on those things and they will only resent you for it. I wont bore you any more, just know that I ran a class for parents to help them get through what I had been through. Take time to catch your breath, stand back, and just hold tight to all that is precious. The courts and God himself will handle this man, not you. If you choose to handle it yourself, prepare to be handled by God. I am always here for you and anyone else on GBGD that needs it, relating to this subject. Rodger, I love you like a brother, John.

I believe that there's some fantastic, healing advice there. I hope you will be able to find it in your heat to take it eventually Woody.
