Arriving Las Vegas... Friday evening. City Lights!

Leaving out for St.George the next morning. Nothing but desert on the way.

Stopped in St.George for some lunch. Still desert.

Arrived at my sister's place in Beaver, Utah. Higher elevation, but it's still desert.

At sunset in Beaver, the desert mountains look as if they're on fire!

20170525_204406.jpg

Took an excursion and found something beside's just desert.

20170526_133356.jpg

Even found some heaven amongst the mountain tops!

All in All... I found some quiet peaceful rest that I so desperately needed.

We're back home and have one last day... Then it's WORK all over again. [V]

    Great pictures!!!

I have fond, not really, memories of St. George, Utah; it was about 114 degrees when we passed through there on vacation one summer many years ago!!!!

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!

Thanks for the pictures. I like that area. I built a block plant in St. George about 10-11 years ago. Always enjoyed the drive from LV to St. George.

I always enjoy pictures. Thanks for sharing.

We will be meandering through Utah on vacation in a few weeks. We are actually staying a night in Moab.

In picture one, you kind of missed the big lights! That was just a few neighborhoods.

In picture two in the upper right hand corner, um, well, we just don't talk about those things here.[;)]

That's the beauty of Utah, you have all sorts of landscape, from Desert, come out once, to prairies.

So did you get to see much Beaver while you were there.those Single women in Beaver are pretty loose.[:D][:D]

I'm glad Utah relaxed you. Had I but known, I'd have driven down to shake your hand. If you fly into Salt Lake next time, it's a given.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Utah is a place where you can toss a camera in the air and get postcards.

Rocky I'll be back out at some point...

And next time I'll probably fly into Salt Lake instead of LV.
Either one is ~three hours from Beaver.

I'll give you a heads up when I do.

    Awesome thanks for sharing.

I can't imagine the water coming down those mountains if it ever rains.

The one with the "Fire" should be a screen saver pic!
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

My sister is an RN and owns a geriatric assisted care facility in Beaver off I-15.
The wife and I were honorary residents for the week. [:D]

They fly the US Flag 24/7 and get "horn honks" about every ten or fifteen
minutes from passing motorists that see the flag waving in that constant breeze.

The first time I heard it happen... I asked what that was all about.
I think it's pretty neat to get that kind of response in today's world.

    Yes it is!
Off of 'Kents Lake Rd.', S.R. 137
And I believe that's Birch Creek Mountain off in the distance with snow still on the peak from the recent snow fall a couple weeks ago.

Beautiful Country that rivals the Appalachians here in the Carolinas.

Beaver being just under 6,000 feet elevation, it stays about 10 degrees cooler than St.George where she lives.
And relative humidity stays about 45%, NICE and comfortable.

Really nice country , did you get a chance to wet a line and catch any fish?

We just spent the weekend to the east of there a ways in the desert chasing Indian rock art and dinosaur foot prints.

We had planned to do a day of fishing... But got sidetracked.
Just as well. The day we got up there, they had just stocked 'Little Res" where we were going to fish and nothing was biting due to the small abundant fingerlings.
Still... Had a great time anyway.
