I'm planning on moving from California to Oklahoma. Is there any restriction on bringing my guns from CA to OK?

I see a problem with your user name becoming obtuse.

...OK is a gun friendly State, and Conservitive too...just don't move to the South Eastern part of the State, mostly poplated by drunk Indians, fact...but then, thousands of drunk Indians is still better than ANY sober CA puke politician or lefty Commie-Fornian...[;)]

We need all the gunowners we can here. There are some important fights coming up soon, but if you must go...happy trails.

Hey, thanks for all the prompt replies, folks! [:)]
Wife and I are considering moving to OK since my current company has several offices there. I was thinking of buying a house here in CA, but things are not looking good for future home owners down here. So if I plan on settling down somewhere, I'd rather be in a more "traditional" (conservative?) and gun-friendly state.

LaidbackDan: Yeah, I might consider changing that... :)

COLT: You're right, at that point, anywhere east of the Colorado river looks good.

War Pig: Gun-related issues in CA are not the only reasons why I'm very seriously considering moving. CA is going down the drain at a faster pace than I thought a few years back. I feel for the few good friends I'd leave behind.

Serious problem. I'm afraid you'll have to send all your guns to me.

I urge all tax paying citizens to move out of CA. Leave CA> for the liberals/homos/illegals from mexico, india, and the rest of the third world countries. I did 4 1/2 years ago and never looked back except to flip the bird at the CA. AZ. border. Best thing about OK. is you can own full auto with a just $200 tax stamp and what ever the weapon costs. It's almost enough to make me drive the 53 miles to the MO. OK. border and rent an apartment in OK.

I hear there is great quail hunting OK. So once you get settled in and find some spots to hunt let me know. We hardly have quail here in Indiana anymore.

    Let me help.

You can just drop them off in Colorado on your way through.

...I agree 100% and, it MAY happen, or the few good civies in Commiefornia will find living there even MORE intolerable.

...As you know, the guy running CA, the guy with short man syndrome, the Govenator; has called for the possibility of the State to LEGALIZE dope!! GREAT IDEA!!! IF CA does that, look at ALL the hippes/libs/Obammy supporters and other assorted dopers that will move to CA!! I think that is a WONDERFUL thought! Who the hell cares if CA will always vote liberal(?) they do now...and it would get rid of a lot of lowlife dopers/liberals from the other States...leaving Conservatives!

...I say to the short man running Commifornia......LEGALIZE POT...PLEASE! It would be like flies drawn to a pile of cow poop...[^]

LOL! That sounded like a liberal politician... [:D]

Colonel Plink: I'm a Broncos fan, but I think I'll skip Colorado on that trip... [:)]

    War Pig Actual & SCOUT5:
Yeh, the best and most fun quail hunting day was in Blythe, in southern california. Not many commies/hippies down there... [:D]

Anyway, they can keep their pot-heads and otherwise empty-heads in CA. I'm outta here.

No restrictions on firearms as to type so no worries there. Where in OK.? If you move to Tulsa it's home to the worlds largest gunshow. No waiting period on sales just the federal NICS check. Also look up the J M Davis gun museum in nearby Claremore OK

I sure wish tha National Finals was still held there. Used to go every year 'till they moved it to Vegas.

To heck with tradition, gotta' make more money.

Moving away won't help you escape the sinking California ship.
Calif liberal politicians have ruined their state. So the Obama Adm. is going to make the rest of us pay to try to keep it afloat. Or drag us down with it.

    LOL

    No.

Congrats on your move to a reasonable state! Enjoy you new found freedoms.

Anything you can own in Ca. is legal in any other state and there will be thing you can legally own in OK that will make the move worth wild.

wipala: Either Tulsa or Oklahoma City. My company have offices in both towns.

Fatstrat: yeah, but if I have to choose between a flu and a cancer, I pick the flu!

OKC has a lot of gunshow almost as many as Tulsa. Tulsa has about one a month with 5 big shows a year 3 Grand National and 2 Wannemacher shows OKC has the Cowboy hall of fame and a lot of other interesting things to see Remington park horse racing and so on. If you got kids they have a small amusement park and Bricktown entertainment district. Tulsa has about 3 or 4 casinos and a small horsetrack at the fairgrounds and alo of museums as well

I'd chose Tulsa for several reasons.
Winter weather is milder. The winter jet stream tends to either go N. or S. of us. They get more snow/ice in S. Okla. and N. Tex. than we do here. Plus less tornado's than OKC.
Lots of Lakes in the area for recreation.
Worlds largest gunshow twice a year.
Generally cheaper, if not cheapest fuel prices than most of the nation.
And Tulsa is best described as "A big small town". A city w/a small town atmosphere.
    You'll like it.

John, you will no longer be a prunepicker.........you will be an OKIE! Sell you log cabin in Ca and buy a mansion in Oklahoma! Oklahoma is the most conservative state in the US. Oklahoma's economy is, also, the best in the states.

Having experienced first hand what an influx of Kalifornia refugees can do to the social and political climate of a freedom-loving state, I recommend that unless you can shed the general Kali-love of social benefits and nanny-state government, you stay where you are.

Not being from Oklahoma, I have no standing, but the effect of Kail refugees on freedom-loving states is real, demonstrable and quite negative in many respects.

    Dear lt496,

I don't know you and you sure don't know me. To try insulting people over an internet forum is quite childish in my humble opinion. And to paint people of an entire state with the same broad brush is usually thought as quite ignorant. This kind of tactics are ususally used by left-wing nuts claiming that small town folks cling to their guns and religion or thinking that if you hold conservative values, you're some kind of right-wing extremist/terrorist.

Anyway, I won't give you a lecture on this forum. I'm myself not originally from CA, like most of the people living here. Just so you know that CA is not limited to SF and Hollywood and that there are plenty of decent country folks in some beautiful rural areas with ranches, cattle and great fishing and hunting spots.

But I can't blame you for being so condescending. The medias only talk about fags in SF and freaks in Hollywood. They do the same with New York state. I just hope that you lighten up a little and don't believe what all the medias tell you. Just get some fresh air with the family, go hit the trails, do some muding or go bear hunting. It's known to be an excelent therapy, unless you one of these hippy/tree hugger/left-wing nut... but I don't think that you are.

    Sincerely,
    John
