gas stations,where you live?
In Florida, they have huge barrels of ice with single beers floating in them near the counter. U can get gas and a single beer,"for the road" but,it's a $140 ticket if you are caught with an open alcohol container,in your vehicle..
About 13-15 years ago, it was totally LEGAL to drink & drive in Florida.
I once had a LEO pull up right next to me at a light and I opened a bottle of Jack I had just purchased and took a swig while he was looking at me.( I knew I had a zero BAC.)
He never even pulled me over...

    Not in Indiana.

But it was either Arkansas or Texas (can't remember which) that had a drive through adult milkshake deal. Like white russians for the drive home.

There was a "package shop" in NC that had drive through, although drinkng while driving was illegal, they'd sell them one at a time in a paper bag.

it can be. i cant think of a single gas station where it has been the case so far, but they recently changed the laws here to allow non package stores to sell beer and wine.

the gas station a block from my store tried to get a liquor license a short while before i started working there. the owner of my store appeared before the licensing board to fight the issuance of the license. ultimately they were denied but it was due to the proximity of their store to ours, not because they were a gas station.

I THINK,you can have an open container in the vehicle. In the county no problem. In the city, count on getting pulled over, to make sure that one visible open isn't one of 50. [;)][;)] Not positive on the law anymore, cause I don't drink.

Yes on gas stations and convinence stores. but open containers will send you directly to jail! [;)]

Not around here, but have seen it when going to the cities or back home. Wish it was though. we have one liqure store with in 30 miles and it closes at 9 every night. sucks when at 10:00 at night you decide you want a beer and the store is already closed.

Believe it or not NYS does have beer in gas stations. In our neighboring free state PA they do not and I do not believe a bar can be open on Sunday unless they serve some kind of percentage of food in the establishment. Not quite sure how that works.

Yep, gas stations here sell all the goods needed to keep DA HOOD happy.

Very often im behind someone in line that gets one beer, one blunt, one bag of chips, one faygo, hands the clerk $10 and says put the rest on pump 5.

In Kansas, anything over like 3.2% has to be sold at a liquor store and if you bring a case up to the counter after midnight or on a Sunday they will go into 'I'm about to be robbed' mode and then foul-mouth you when you try to say "I didn't know, sorry". Most other states I've been to will have low-end beer brands in large container singles at least.

In Nevada if you want it they have it. Beer, wine, whiskey, slots.

I was told in Wyoming the reason gas stations don't is to discourage drinking and driving. They would rather you go to the bar. I told the guy that was the dumbest thing I heard.

CA has all the negative rules about drinky-drivy, but they do sell hooch in the gas stations (Not the hard stuff, beer-wine). I was a kid in NV and Texas, however, and for ages it was anything goes in both places. I remember Dad getting a scotch on the rocks to go at a bar in Nv. on a regular basis. Even my Grandparents in Texas had two regular passengers with them on car trips; a small ice chest and a travel bar with jiggers, shakers, cups and spaces in it for 750ml bottles. During multi-hour drives to Bay City, Grandmother would whip up several Ancient Age on the rocks for Granddaddy for the drive from the ranch (Kerr/Bandera County) down to the Gulf.

I honestly have no idea how I survived......

In Texas it's illegal to have an open alcoholic beverage container in the passenger compartment of a vehicle. Been this way for years.

However, in Louisiana you can pull up to a drive-thru window and leave with a mixed drink in your hand. These sort of places are common down there.

When In Lousyanna a number of years back,, Slidell to be exact, I was with some friends and they said pull in here and go through the drive through, and lets get a drink.. .

Cajun's love their alcohol, and they love it fast. If you ever had any doubt, then look no further than one of our greatest innovations.the Drive Through Daiquiri Shop. Just pull up in your car or truck and order a daiquiri off the menu. You can choose an individual or even gallon-sized portions. Next, you pay the attendant, who passes you your drinks in a large styrofoam cup through the drivers side window. That's all there is to it!

In Kentucky, yes the gas stations sale beer by the case or you can get a single can or bottle. I guess they could sell wine or liquor too if they applied for the licenses.

NO open containers in a vehicle though.

from placed I've lived: Alabama, Michigan and Ohio you can find both beer and wine at proper gas stations (I guess there's some smaller ones that have a very limited store so no wine...maybe on beer)

Now in Kansas, gas stations can sell the same 3.2% beer that the grocery store can.

One thing to consider regarding open container laws and alcohol at a gas station is many modern gas stations are dumbed-down grocery stores.
Actually gas stations turn most of their profit from the sale of food and drink, they barely break even on the gasoline (especially after credit processing fees)

Up until several years ago open container was OK in Nevada as long as you weren't the driver. that's changed now.
Yes, we can buy single beers, wine, or hooch at any convenience store or gas station.

I miss the days in Nevada when you could drive a hundred miles an hour drinking whisky on your way to the Whorehouse and it was all legal.
